About Us
S.G.P.T.A has as its emblem, a book of knowledge supported by a lotus, a symbol of purity, grace and dignity. Books are a means to worldly success but man has to grow beyond the worldly pursuits to discover the ever ascending mind and the soul of humanity which should irradiate by its inner strength and light, symbolised by a flame of light at the centre. It is when awakened to the Truth, that we live only for the divine.
All these are contained within a circle that symbolises integrity, discipline and fullness. Inscribed atop the circle that contains the emblem of S.G.P.T.A is "Sa Vidya Ya Vimuktaye" from the Upanishad, which translated, sums up the motto : "That which leads us to liberation is education. Liberation means freeing oneself from all forms of bondage. As one sheds these restrictions one becomes independent and a perfect "Vivekin". This attainment of wisdom is possible only through Vidya. That which imparts such an education is really a temple.
